ClickSoftware went private with the private equity firm Francisco Partners (FP), and my retirement as Click’s CEO after almost 20 year running it. Naturally, I was somewhat concerned as to the future of the people and the company. The first months included many changes, some painful. Happily, most changes which were not ideal in the first round were quickly adjusted. As I always say, in business you are measured by the results you deliver, not by the actions you perform. Judging by the current state of Click: continuing its position as the consensus market leader of the field service industry, along with its impressive growth, and now the acquisition by It has been four years since Salesforce – the top leader in today’s enterprise software industry – it means we can all compliment FP for the excellent job they did managing Click’s people and operations, taking ClickSoftware to the next level.
I have known Salesforce for many years, have great respect for their remarkable accomplishments in pioneering the cloud industry, introducing major innovations in the CRM sector and, of course, their business success. It is one of the best run technology companies and a great place to work. I am very glad that Salesforce is the new home for my baby.
